This third volume examines in detail the last twelve years of his career, until 2005, when he retired from chess.

The first two volumes of this series described Kasparov emerging as a great talent, overthrowing his great rival Anatoly Karpov and thus winning the world title he defended on three occasions.

This third volume examines in detail the last twelve years of his career, until 2005, when he retired from chess.

At that time, Kasparov added experience and strength to his spectacular game ever.

This period witnessed three other World Championship games: the win against Short (1993) and Anand (New York 1995) and the lost against Kramnik (London 2000), which ended with the 15-year reign of Garry Kasparov as World Champion.

In 1999 Kasparov achieved a colossal ELO of 2,851 points, a record he kept until 2013.

Despite the loss of the world championship, Kasparov continued to be the world number one and dominated the circuit of the best tournaments.

He finished an unprecedented race with ten consecutive victories in elite events: four in Linares from 1999 to 2002, three in Wijk aan Zee, two in Sarajevo and one in Astana. The items in this volume are masterpieces of the combination.

Twenty-first century chess has among its best exponents "computerized" players, whose unquestionable oracles are supercomputers and modules of analysis.

It is possible that the end of the reign of Garry also meant the closing of a stage in the history of chess: the combative, risky and explosive chess with which so many fans enjoyed.

Garry Kasparov on Garry Kasparov is an autobiographical series in three volumes that includes the greatest battles disputed by the greatest chess player of all time: Garry Kasparov.

He describes his meteoric awakening, from playing beautiful and intense games with ten years of age, to those that took place in 2005, the year of his retirement.

All of them analyzed by him, with great technical rigor and with an endless detail in which his evolution is reflected in and out of the board.
