This complete training course gathers all the key themes of chess: the opening, the tactics, the calculation of variants, the strategy, the positional game and the finals.

The course is divided into three different series: Foundations, Intermediate and Advanced. It contains examples, exercises and solutions arranged by subject and level of difficulty, thus providing the reader with the perception of the coach at home.

He was World Youth Champion in 1977; he was three times in the semifinals of the World Cup (1986, 1989, 1992); twice in the European Cup. He was once world champion by teams and five times Olympic champion with the Soviet team, German champion 2005 and champion in the European fast games in 2005.

For many years he played on the first board of the German national team and helped him win a sensational second place at the Chess Olympiad in Istanbul.

In 2009 the F.I.D.E. he recognized his work as a teacher by awarding him the Boleslavsky gold medal for the best instructional chess work, ahead of the works of Mark Dvoretsky and Gary Kasparov.
