Jose Raul Capablanca (Havana 1888 - New York 1942). He was world chess champion from 1921 to 1927, when he lost the title to Alekhine in Buenos Aires. At twenty, without having opened a chess book, he faced the great Frank Marshall, with the surprising result 8-1 and 14 boards.
